Lost Horizon formed in 2000 with guitarist Daniel Heiman, who also handled vocals. They released their debut album 'Awakening the World' in 2001, followed by 'A Flame to the Ground Beneath' in 2003 and 'The Healing' in 2006. Their 2011 album was called 'World Apart'.
Their song 'Highlander (The One)' from 2003 became particularly well-known among power metal listeners. Other tracks like 'Think Not Forever' and 'Cry Of a Restless Soul' show their style of symphonic arrangements and prominent guitar work.
The band's lineup included keyboardist Jens Bogren, bassist Christian Nyquist, and drummer Martin Furholt. They faced a legal issue in 2001 regarding the use of the 'Highlander' name, which they resolved.
