Lost Soul formed in Tampere, Finland in 1997. The band's lineup included Ville Laihiala on vocals, Sami Vänskä and Arttu Lesonen on guitars, Olli Suvanto on bass, and Jukka Rämänen on drums. They released their debut album 'Surreal' in 2000, followed by several others including 'Lost Soul' in 2002, 'The Art of Bleeding' in 2003, and 'Forever War' in 2005.
Their songs like '...If The Dead Can Speak' and 'Angel's Cry' worked with themes of mortality and introspection. The music had a melodic death metal foundation with symphonic elements woven through it.
Later albums included 'Tulenvalvojat' in 2008, 'No More Shadows' in 2010, another self-titled release in 2012, 'Sanctuary' in 2015, and 'The Last of the Living' in 2019. The band's catalog shows a consistent output over more than two decades without major stylistic shifts.
