Lotus Plaza is the project of Lockett Pundt, who was the guitarist for Deerhunter. The band's sound is built around Pundt's guitar work, which tends toward shimmering arpeggios and textured layers. Their first album, 'Self Port,' came out in 2009, followed by 'The Floodlight Collective' in 2011 and 'Spooky Action at a Distance' in 2013.

Songs like 'A Threaded Needle' and 'Black Buzz' show the project's approach: melodic, somewhat introspective, and built on those guitar patterns. The music doesn't rush; it unfolds. There's a quietness to it, even when the arrangements get dense.
