Lou Barlow

Lou Barlow first gained attention in the mid-1980s as the bassist for Dinosaur Jr., the Massachusetts band he formed with J. Mascis and Murph. Their albums like 'You're Living All Over Me' from 1987 helped define a certain strain of alternative rock with its mix of heavy guitar and melodic hooks.

While still part of Dinosaur Jr., Barlow began releasing his own material under various names, including Sentridoh. His solo work, like the 1994 album 'Emoh', tended toward quieter, more acoustic arrangements. Songs such as 'Caterpillar Girl' and 'Dragdown Memory' reflect his preference for direct, personal lyrics.

He has continued to write and record steadily since the 1990s, putting out albums like 'Goodnight Unknown' in 2010. His music often circles back to themes of relationships and introspection, delivered with a straightforward, unadorned style.
