Louie formed in São Paulo in 1994 when friends Fábio Nestares and Luciano Vianna teamed up with drummer Rodrigo Tavares. Their debut album came out in 1996, and its lead single 'A Canção Que Fiz Pra Você' became a major hit in Brazil. The song 'Paulinha' also found an audience.
After some early success, the band went on hiatus in 1998. They reunited in 2003 and went on to release several more albums, including 'Inspiração' in 2004 and 'Doce Mel' in 2007. Their later work showed a different side of the band than their initial pop breakthrough.
Louie's music stayed in rotation on Brazilian radio for years after their biggest hits. They worked with artists like Gilberto Gil and Marisa Monte, but it's 'A Canção Que Fiz Pra Você' that most people remember.
