Archive material and source history

Love and Theft formed in 2002 with Stephen Barker Liles, Eric Gunderson, and Brian Bandas. Their debut album 'Runaway' came out in 2009 and included the single 'Angel Eyes,' which did well on country radio. They followed that with a self-titled album in 2011, which had the song 'Runaway' on it.

Bandas left in 2016 to work on his own music, and Liles and Gunderson kept going as a duo. They put out 'Halfway Home' in 2018. Then Gunderson left in 2020, leaving Liles to continue using the Love and Theft name. Liles has since released solo albums like 'Hey Y'all' in 2021 and 'Next Chapter' in 2023.

Their songs like 'If You Ever Get Lonely,' 'Whiskey On My Breath,' and 'Amen' have stayed in rotation on country playlists. The group had a straightforward country sound built around vocal harmonies, and they managed to keep putting out music even as the lineup changed.
