Love Battery formed in Seattle in 1989 with Paul B. Cutler on vocals and guitar, Ron Nine on guitar, Jim Tillman on bass, and Jason Finn on drums. Their debut EP was called 'Between the Eyes.' They put out five studio albums between 1992 and 1998, starting with 'Dayglo' and ending with 'Electric Church.'
Jason Finn left the band in 1992, and Cameron Steele took over on drums. In 1994, their former label Sub Pop sued them over a contract. They kept making records through it, though they eventually stopped playing together in 2003.
Songs like 'Out Of Focus' and 'Before I Crawl' show what they did well: hazy guitar lines, a steady rhythm section, and lyrics that felt a little detached. Their sound shifted some from record to record, but it usually stayed in that space between melodic and murky.
