Love History

Love History formed in Los Angeles in 2005 with Emily Carter on vocals, David Hayes on guitar, Thomas Gray on bass, and Michael Jones on drums. They started playing small venues around the city, working through the usual early struggles of a new band. Carter had some trouble with stage anxiety at first, but she got past it with the group's support.

Their song 'Alone' became their most recognizable track, connecting with listeners who appreciated its straightforward take on loneliness. Other songs like 'Lost' and 'Angealism' showed their range within a moody, melodic style. They released albums including 'First Dance' in 2007, 'Echoes of the Past' in 2010, and 'Redemption' in 2014.

In 2012, there was some noise about a leaked demo of 'Lost' and accusations that it borrowed too much from another artist. The band kept working and put out 'Redemption' a couple years later, which felt like a response to that period. They made music that dealt with relationships and personal hurdles without getting overly dramatic about it.
