Love Is Noise

Love Is Noise formed in London in the early 2000s with Scott Walker on vocals and guitar, James Murray on bass and keyboards, and Robin Rimbaud handling electronics. Their self-titled debut came out in 2003, followed the next year by an album called The Verve. That record's title referenced the psychedelic rock band, which drew some public criticism from that group's frontman Richard Ashcroft.

Their sound mixed rock with electronic and ambient elements in a way that didn't fit neatly into existing categories. This approach sometimes made it harder to find support from labels and venues, but they kept working in that direction anyway. They played at places like the Barbican and the Royal Opera House, and released a live recording from the Barbican in 2005.

After The Verve, they put out The Shiny Beasts in 2007 and Palimpsest in 2009. Their last album was Immortality in 2013. The music was often described as experimental, with Walker's lyrics adding to the sense that they were working outside conventional rock patterns.
