Love Me Electric formed in Los Angeles in the late 2000s around vocalist Anya Rozen and guitarist Ethan Reed. Their early sound was built on ethereal vocals and guitar melodies, which they captured on their debut EP 'Static.' The track 'Avolition' from that period became something of an anthem for them, a song about escaping daily constraints that resonated with their early listeners.
After a brief hiatus in 2012, the band returned with their first full album 'Ethereal' in 2014. Internal tensions grew as their popularity increased, particularly between Rozen and Reed over creative direction, leading to Reed's departure in 2016.
Rozen and bassist Ethan James continued with new guitarist Max Cohen, releasing the sophomore album 'Ephemeral.' This marked a shift toward a more introspective and experimental sound for the group, moving beyond their earlier guitar-driven arrangements.
