Archive material and source history
Loyiso Bala is a South African singer-songwriter from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape. He started singing in church choirs and local talent shows before releasing his debut album 'Searching' in 2001. That record helped establish him nationally.
His 2003 album 'Africa' brought wider attention, and he's performed with artists like Annie Lennox and Bono. Songs like 'Wrong For You' and 'My Angel' show his soulful, melodic approach. In 2008, 'Wrong For You' was at the center of a plagiarism accusation that was later dismissed.
After parting ways with his bandmates in 2016, Loyiso continued as a solo artist. He's released several albums since, including 'Never Let Me Go' that same year and 'From the Inside' in 2018.
