Loz Manos formed in 1999 in Olhão, Portugal, with Rúben Semedo on vocals and guitar, Bruno Silva on bass, and Jorge Silva on drums. They started playing live shows around Portugal, working on their sound before putting out their first album, "Paraíso," in 2004.
That debut album included "Madalena," which became their most recognizable song. It's a ballad about longing that connected with listeners and helped build their audience beyond Portugal.
After "Paraíso," they released several more albums including "Flor de Sal" in 2007, "Fado" in 2009, "Lisboa" in 2012, and another album titled "Madalena" in 2016. The band's lineup changed at times over those years.
