Their music drew from post-punk and new wave, though it never settled neatly into one category. Their debut album came out in 1988, and the track 'Mulher de Bigode' quickly became their most recognizable song.
They kept recording through the early 1990s, putting out albums like 'Baile de Máscaras' and 'Mulheres e Homens.' Other songs from that period include 'Baby Look' and 'Eu Não Quero.'
Luiz Paulo remained the central creative figure. The band's sound was lean, built around his distinctive voice and their stripped-down arrangements. They didn't chase mainstream acceptance, which gave their work a particular edge, even on later tracks like 'Nasci Para Comer.'
