L'pare

L'Pare formed in São Paulo in the late 1990s with vocalist and guitarist Rodrigo Melo, bassist Guilherme Galdino, and drummer Fábio Sampaio. They released their debut album 'Desesperança' independently in 2006 after facing rejections from labels who found their sound too dark. The album's title track, 'DESESPERANÇA,' became one of their early signatures.

Their music often explores themes of loss and despair, which drew both dedicated listeners and criticism from some who felt it glorified negativity. They followed up with albums like 'Viver é Sofrer' in 2008, 'Matar ou Morrer' in 2012, and 'Ruínas' in 2021. Songs like 'Meu Verdadeiro Ser' and 'Outra Musica' reflect their consistent focus on raw, introspective lyrics.

Rodrigo Melo's vocals and writing anchor the band's sound, while Galdino's bass and Sampaio's drumming build the melancholic atmosphere. They've maintained a steady presence in Brazil's alternative rock scene without major commercial shifts, letting their music speak for itself.
