Her debut album 'Luba' came out in 1988 and included 'The Best Is Yet To Come,' which became a top-ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100. That song's hopeful message connected with listeners, along with tracks like 'Everytime I See Your Picture' and 'Act Of Mercy' from her catalog.
In 1991, she faced plagiarism accusations regarding her song 'Everytime I Close My Eyes,' which some said resembled work by Israeli singer Ofra Haza. She went on to release several more albums, including 'Between the Earth and the Sky' in 1992 and 'A Thousand Songs' in 2006.
