Archive material and source history
Lubra was a Brazilian rock band that formed in São Paulo in the late 1990s. Their music pulled from alternative rock and metal, with some Brazilian rhythms mixed in. The song 'Batalhas e Desafios' came from their 1999 album of the same name.
The band's lineup included Gegê Lima on vocals and guitar, Dinoel Rocha on bass, and Felipe Roseno on drums. Rodrigo 'Digão' Faro joined in the early 2000s, adding vocals and guitar. Their lyrics often dealt with personal struggles and social issues.
After their debut, Lubra released 'A Cura' in 2002 and 'Em Busca do Ouro Perdido' in 2007. The latter was a concept album about the Brazilian gold rush. Their outspoken approach sometimes put them at odds with the mainstream.
