He kept recording through the decade, putting out albums like 'Carrefour Blues' in 1993 and 'Quatre saisons en hiver' in 1996. Other songs that stuck around include 'Cash City' and 'Si fragile.'
In 1999 he was diagnosed with throat cancer and had to step back for treatment. He returned to performing afterward. A plagiarism lawsuit in 2013, which was eventually dismissed, created some noise but didn't stop him from working.
