Lucas Caru is a Brazilian gospel singer from São Paulo. His father introduced him to gospel music early on, and he started writing songs as a teenager during a difficult period when he was briefly homeless. In 2018, producer Marquinhos Gomes heard his music and signed him to MK Music.
The following year, Caru released "10 Mil Promessas," which became one of Brazil's most-streamed songs. Other tracks like "Amor Herói" and "Luta Por Um Sonho" followed a similar pattern of straightforward, hopeful lyrics set to accessible melodies. He performs with a band that includes Bruno Silva on bass, Guga Brito on drums, and Marcos Roberto on guitar.
Caru has put out several albums, including Sonhos e Milagres in 2019 and Reino dos Céus in 2023. He's worked with other Brazilian gospel artists like Aline Barros and Bruna Karla. In 2020, some of his political comments drew criticism from listeners.
