Lucas Coliver

Lucas Coliver formed in Nashville in 1976, with Lucas Coliver on vocals, Johnathan Grey on guitar, William Carter on bass, and Mark Jones on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1979, anchored by the song '1776,' which became a hit around the bicentennial.

After that peak, the band kept making records and touring through the 1980s and 1990s, though nothing else reached the same commercial height. They stuck with an Americana style, and songs like 'A Casa' and 'A Dança Das Bruxas' showed their range beyond the patriotic anthem. Internal tensions were part of the story, but they held onto a core audience.
