Luciana Braz

Luciana Braz came up in Maceió, Alagoas, and put out her first album, 'Doce Amor,' in 2004. That title track stuck around, along with songs like 'Minha Vida' and 'Virou o Jogo,' which became familiar on Brazilian radio.

She kept recording through the late 2000s and into the 2010s, with albums like 'Flor do Caribe' in 2008 and 'Meu Lugar' in 2012. The writing on those later records sometimes turned more inward, away from the straightforward love songs of her debut.

Braz has talked openly about dealing with depression and anxiety, and in 2019 she was involved in a copyright dispute that got some attention. She's one of those artists whose personal life and music have stayed tangled up in the public eye.
