El Mimoso is the stage name for Luis Antonio López, a Mexican regional musician from Los Mochis, Sinaloa. He formed a band under that name in 2004, with an initial lineup that included Pedro Gaxiola on bass, Gilberto Cervantes on drums, Misael Galaviz on accordion, and Carlos Moreno on electric guitar. Their debut album was called 'Un Corazon Abierto.'
They've worked with other artists in the genre, like on the track 'Te Equivocaste,' which features Grupo Firme, El Flaco, El Yaki, and Grupo Codiciado. Other songs include 'El Caminante' and 'Borrón y Cuenta Nueva.'
In 2012, the band had a legal dispute with their former record label over releasing new music. The current lineup still includes López on vocals with the same core musicians from the start.
