Luiz Alberto Fleitas is a musician from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He formed his own ensemble called La Banda de Luis Fleitas, which blended Afro-Uruguayan rhythms with Argentine folk melodies.
His song "Baile de Los Morenos" came out in 1996 and became particularly popular within the Afro-Uruguayan community. The track's lively beat and lyrics celebrated that community's culture.
Fleitas has released other albums including "Negro de Vos" in 1998 and "Fleitas, El Negro de Vos" in 2006. In 2010, he faced accusations of plagiarism regarding melodies from an older Afro-Uruguayan song, which he denied and which were never fully resolved.
