Luiz & Luan formed in 2010 after Luiz Carlos and Luan Santana met at a music festival. They built their sound around sertanejo, a Brazilian genre with rural roots. Their debut album 'Nosso Destino' came out in 2011, followed by records like 'Singular' in 2013 and 'Acústico' in 2014.
Their song 'Entornar o Caneco' became a breakout hit, though it was tied up in a legal dispute over rights in 2013. The duo worked through that and kept recording. Other tracks like 'Minha História Agora é Você' and 'Você Brincou Demais' show their focus on love and relationships, themes that run through much of their material.
Luiz handles most of the vocals while Luan writes many of the songs. They haven't released an album since 2016's 'Cores', but their earlier work still gets played on Brazilian radio.
