Luiz França

Luiz França is a Brazilian singer and songwriter from Rio de Janeiro. His music draws from samba, bossa nova, and MPB, with influences from artists like João Gilberto, Tom Jobim, and Chico Buarque. He formed a band in his early twenties and released a debut album in 2003 that blended traditional Brazilian sounds with contemporary elements.

In 2008, França released the single "O Sol Vai Nascer," which became his most recognizable song. Its lyrics about resilience and hope connected with listeners during a difficult period in Brazil. Other songs like "Amor verdadeiro," "Baixo rio," and "Coisas do Amor" show his range with romantic themes and regional influences.

França has been known for speaking out on social issues, which has sometimes led to public disputes. In 2015, he had a disagreement with a government official that resulted in his music being temporarily removed from some radio stations.
