Luiz Marcio came from Conceição do Mato Dentro in Minas Gerais. He started performing in the 1970s, first with the band Sambacana and later with his own group, Luiz Marcio e Banda.
His self-titled debut album came out in 1981 and included the song 'Boa Noite,' which became his best-known work. He also wrote and recorded other tracks like 'Casa Comigo' and 'Conselho.'
In 1985, he was arrested for drug possession, which affected his career. He kept making music through the 1980s and 1990s, working with musicians like Beto Guedes and Toninho Horta.
