Luizão Kizomba came out of Luanda, Angola, with Luizão Alberto as the frontman. Their debut album was called "Kizomba Morna" in 1998, mixing kizomba and morna styles. They put out "Não Desligue" in 2002, which had the title track that got some attention.
Some of Luizão's lyrics touched on love and social issues, which drew criticism from conservative groups at the time. Another song people know is "Pode falar."
