Luizie formed in Belo Horizonte around 2009, originally called Lua Liso. The band was started by vocalist Luana Vieira and her brother Hugo Vieira on guitar. They eventually settled into a mix of pop, rock, and MPB.
Their 2012 EP "Lembrar de Você" brought them national attention, with the title track becoming a resonant ballad.
Luizie went independent in 2018 after leaving their record label. They've released albums like "Infinito" in 2015, "Bruta Flor" in 2018, and "Calico" in 2022. The lineup has changed at times, but Luana and Hugo have remained at the center.
