Luizin Pressão

Luiz Cláudio da Silva, who performed as Luizin Pressão, was born in 1969 in Pernambuco in northeastern Brazil. He started playing music locally, and in 1996 his debut album 'Forró das Antigas' came out. The track 'Vaqueiro Desconhecido' from that record caught on and helped him reach a wider audience.

Pressão became known for performing forró, a traditional Brazilian dance style. His shows were energetic, and he played festivals and concerts around the country. In 2001, he faced domestic violence allegations from his wife, which affected his public standing for a time.

He kept performing and putting out music after that, though with less mainstream attention than during the peak of 'Vaqueiro Desconhecido'. His work stayed rooted in forró's rhythms and themes.
