Luizinho, Limeira e Zezinha were three brothers from Catanduva, São Paulo who started playing music together in the early 1960s. They were Luiz Alves dos Santos, Osvaldo Alves dos Santos, and José Alves dos Santos. In 1963 they recorded 'Três Vidas Perdidas,' a ballad about unrequited love that became their breakthrough hit.
Their music was sertanejo, a Brazilian country style, and they recorded several albums including 'Romance de um Garoto' in 1966 and 'De Voltas com o Passado' in 1971. Other songs people remember include 'Lenço Preto' and 'Araponga.'
Luizinho died in 2006, Zezinha in 2010, and Limeira in 2023. Their recordings from the 1960s and 1970s still get played on Brazilian radio stations that feature sertanejo music.
