Luka formed as a quartet in 2012 with Lucas Silveira on vocals, Augusto Bordoni on guitar, Leandro Diniz on bass, and Marcelo Pelissari on drums. Their debut album 'Tô Nem Aí' came out the following year, and its title track became something of an anthem. In 2014, Silveira publicly came out as gay, which drew both support and criticism in Brazil.
After guitarist Bordoni left in 2016 to pursue solo work, Thiago Abrahão joined on guitar. The band's later albums, like 'Não Fico Pra Trás' from 2015 and 'Nada Mais Importa' from 2019, showed them moving beyond straightforward pop-rock into more electronic and introspective territory. Other songs from their catalog include 'Porta Aberta' and 'Sem Resposta'.
