Lukas Graham

Lukas Graham formed in Copenhagen around 2011, with Lukas Forchhammer on vocals and Morten Ristorp on keyboards. They started as the Lukas Graham Band, a name that stuck. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2015 and included '7 Years,' a song about aging and reflection that connected with listeners in a way that took it to the top of charts in several countries.

That album established their sound, piano-driven pop with straightforward, personal lyrics. They followed it with the Blue Album in 2018 and 3 (The Purple Album) in 2021. Other tracks like 'Happy For You' and 'Share That Love' with G-Eazy kept them on radio playlists, showing they could work within the pop format without losing that direct, conversational tone.

Forchhammer writes most of the material, drawing on his own experiences. The band's lineup solidified with Magnus Larsson on drums and Kasper Daugaard on bass. They've stayed based in Denmark, recording and touring from there rather than relocating to a major music hub, which gives their music a grounded, local feel even when the subject matter is universal.
