Lulo Scroback formed in São Paulo in the late 1990s with Luiz Guilherme on vocals and guitar, Marcelo Veras on bass, Luciano de Carvalho on drums, and Fabio Almeida on keyboards. They released their debut album 'A Vida Não Tá Fácil' in 2002, which got some critical attention for its raw energy.
Their 2005 album 'Por Um Triz' became their breakthrough. The title track turned into something of an anthem, with its guitar riffs and chorus catching on with Brazilian listeners. Other songs like 'Modernidade' and 'Amor De Reclame' also became part of their set.
The band's sound pulls from rock and blues, with some funk and samba mixed in. Guilherme's vocals, Veras's basslines, and de Carvalho's drumming give it a particular feel. They've kept at it since those early São Paulo shows.
