Luna Luna formed in Montreal around 2010, with vocalist Luna Li and guitarist Ethan Jodziewicz at the center. They were joined by drummer Emily Sprague and bassist Tristan Orchard. Their debut album 'Daydream' came out in 2013, giving the band its first real attention. The title track 'Daydream' became their most recognizable song, along with others like 'For You' and '80's Tune' that followed a similar dream-pop vein.
In 2016, former bassist Tristan Orchard publicly accused the band of mistreatment and withholding royalties. Luna Li and Ethan Jodziewicz denied the allegations, but the dispute lingered. The band kept working, releasing a second album called 'Echoes of the Dream' in 2018. That record leaned into more introspective territory, with songs like 'Commitment' and 'Wenn Ich Tot Bin' showing a slightly darker, more layered approach than their earlier material.
