Lunatic

Lunatic was a French rock trio formed in 1992 by singer-guitarist Stéphane "Abs" Briat and bassist Olivier "Fhio" Lochus, later joined by drummer Pierre-Vincent "Vic" Charpentier. They released two studio albums, "Le Dîner Des Cons" in 1994 and "Motel" in 1998, which received critical attention for their melancholic sound and introspective lyrics.

Abs wrote most of their lyrics, which often dealt with themes of silence, loss, and existential fragility. Their song "Le Silence N'est Pas Un Oubli" became particularly noted, along with tracks like "16 Rimes" and "Civilisé" from their top songs list. The music combined ethereal melodies with distorted guitars and hypnotic rhythms.

While some critics found their lyrical content dark or pessimistic, the band developed a following among listeners who connected with their themes. They stopped releasing new material around 2000, leaving behind those two albums and several singles.
