Lunatic Calm was a British alternative rock band active in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their 1998 single "Leave You Far Behind" became their most recognizable track, appearing in films and video games of that era. They released four albums between 1998 and 2004, starting with 'Blissed Out' and ending with 'The Absence of Light'.
The band's lineup included Dean Garcia on vocals and guitar, Ben Gordelier on drums, Sam Garner on bass, and Paul Cunniffe on keyboards. Their music often dealt with darker lyrical themes, which sometimes drew attention beyond the music itself. Other songs like "Nobody" and "Sound of the Revolution" continued in a similar vein of atmospheric rock.
Lunatic Calm stopped working together around 2006. Afterward, Garcia formed Dean Garcia and the Innerspace Orchestra, while Gordelier played with a band called The Featherz. Garner and Cunniffe also pursued other musical projects separately.
