Lunatics Without Skateboards Inc. came together in the late 1990s with Johnny "Jinx" Yallop on vocals, Luke "Saint" Kendall on guitar, Daniel "Danz" Tyler on bass, and Chris "Chaz" Westcott on drums. Their name suggested a certain distance from mainstream trends, and their music followed suit.
In 1999, they put out the single "1428 Elmstreet," which became their most recognizable track. The song's moody atmosphere and cryptic lyrics drew listeners in, though they also stirred up some talk about darker themes. Other songs from that period, like "A Prayer For The Dying" and "Call It Suicide," carried a similar weight.
They kept recording through the 2000s with albums like "Still No Skateboards" in 2001 and "The Lunatics Are Out" in 2004. Their sound never really fit neatly into commercial rock, and internal tensions reportedly made things difficult at times. They released what was billed as "The Final" in 2014.
