Lunettes

Lunettes formed in 2015 as a duo of Marie-Laure Philippot and Victor Paquet. Philippot came from classical piano training, while Paquet handled the electronic production. Their first release was the 2016 EP 'Incertitude Mélodique,' which moved between ambient textures and more rhythmic electronic pieces.

In 2018 they put out an album titled '9171,' named after the track that became their most recognizable work. That song, along with others like 'Cherry' and 'Come On,' showed their preference for blending electronic beats with organic instrumentation, creating a sound that felt both synthetic and human.

Their approach didn't always sit comfortably with either traditional electronic listeners or more experimental crowds, but they kept working within their own framework rather than adapting to genre expectations.
