Luta Armada

Luta Armada came together in São Paulo during the mid-1990s, a group of young punks drawn to anarchist ideas. Their music mixed raw punk with ska and reggae, and it was always tied to political messages about social justice and anti-establishment feelings.

Their song "Pogo Punx" became a kind of anthem for Brazilian punks. The track's beat and lyrics helped define a loose subculture that took the band's name, people who saw pogo dancing as a form of protest and solidarity. Other songs like "14 Years Old Kids" and "Another fuckin' war" carried that same confrontational, rallying energy.

They put out records like "Anarquia e Caos" in 1997, "Luta Armada" in 2000, and "Revolução Pogo Punx" in 2003. The band worked with other São Paulo punk acts like Ratos de Porão and Cólera, which kept them connected to the local scene. Their shows and lyrics sometimes drew criticism from authorities, and in 2001 they were arrested briefly after a festival performance. That kind of friction only seemed to reinforce their stance for their supporters.
