Lux Salutis formed in San Francisco in 1998 with David Vincent on vocals and guitar, Michael Rozz on bass, David Witte on drums, and Chris Homes on guitar. Their debut album 'The Divine Embrace' came out in 2000. They put out six studio albums through 2014, including 'Subverse' in 2002 and 'Luciferian' in 2004.
Their songs like 'I am Immortal' and 'Pharisees and Sadducees' dealt with heavy themes, isolation, spirituality, and what some listeners took as religious questioning. The lyrics sometimes got them into trouble with religious groups who called them blasphemous, and they were occasionally linked to satanic subculture talk.
They kept making music through those controversies, putting out 'Salvation' in 2007, 'The Great Decadence' in 2010, and 'Lux In Tenebris' in 2014. Other tracks included 'Revival' and 'The Way of the Ressurrection'.
