LuXor formed in 2005 around Felipe Silva on vocals and guitar and Rafael Cunha on drums. They put out their first album, 'Refúgio,' in 2007, followed by 'Acordes Perdidos' in 2012. The title track from that second record connected with listeners, and their song 'Pensamentos' became a particularly well-known ballad.
Their music often dealt with themes of love and loss, which some found too somber or sentimental. Still, they kept at it, and their work earned them a nomination for Brazil's Prêmio da Música Brasileira.
