Luya began in the late 2000s when childhood friends Benjamin Biolay and Julie Depardieu started working together. Their early EP 'Les Loups Sont Entrés Dans La Ville' had a raw, intimate quality that caught attention. In 2010, their debut album 'Comme J'aimerai' brought them wider recognition, with the title track becoming particularly well-known.
After Depardieu left in 2015 to focus on acting, Biolay continued leading the project. The band's lineup has included Benjamin Siksou on keyboards, Pierre Belleville on bass, and Alex Tassel on drums, with Biolay handling vocals, guitar, and most of the songwriting. They've released several albums since, including 'Couleurs Nouvelles' in 2013 and 'Voyage' in 2017.
