Archive material and source history
Lynden David Hall was a British singer-songwriter who released three albums between 1970 and 1974. His self-titled debut came out in 1970, followed by 'Sleepless Nights' in 1972 and 'Magic in the Air' in 1974. The band included Steve Taylor on lead guitar, Chris Squires on bass, and Terry Williams on drums.
His most recognizable song is 'All You Need Is Love,' which was released in 1971. It was sometimes compared to The Beatles' song of the same name, but it found its own audience. Another track, 'Sexy Cinderella,' also appears among his notable work.
That debut album didn't find much commercial success at first, but the band kept recording. Their music had a melodic quality that appealed to listeners who discovered it later, even though their time in the spotlight was relatively brief.
