M-19 was an Italian band formed around Matti Alfonzetti on vocals and guitar, Gianluca "Jano" Palombella on bass, Lorenzo "Lillo" Carone on guitar, and Francesco "Capone" D'Errico on drums. They released their first album in 1993 and put out records through 2016, including "Il Mio Cuore È Una Bestia" in 1997 and "Il Mio Sangue È Nero" in 2003.
Their 2008 song "Ashamed Fool" became their most recognized track. Other songs in their catalog include "Cercanamente Lejano," "Corrupt Police," and "Guerra = Muerte." The band's lyrics often dealt with themes of alienation and social injustice, which drew criticism from some quarters while building a dedicated following.
M-19's later albums included "La Morte Non È La Fine" in 2012 and "Senza Fine" in 2016. Their music maintained a raw, emotional quality throughout their recording years, with Alfonzetti's vocals providing much of the intensity.
