M.A.L.U. is a Brazilian band formed by sisters Ana and Luiza Ribeiro from Salvador, Bahia. Their debut album 'Maluzinha' came out in 2014, followed by 'Simples e Livre' in 2016. They've also released 'Dentro da gente' in 2019 and 'Oxente, cabôco' in 2022.
Their song 'Girassol' appeared on that first album and became one of their better-known tracks. Ana handles vocals and guitar while Luiza sings and plays percussion.
In 2018, the band faced some criticism for supporting LGBTQ+ rights, which they continued to advocate for. Their music draws from Brazilian folk traditions while incorporating contemporary pop elements.
