Guardian Of The Forest

The forest at night keeps silence

Of fire lighted with a wise hand

Of ancient Rus' forest guardian

Who don't let anyone to extinguish it down,

He never sleeps at night,

No one ever saw him there,

Where moonlight lays upon moss on the glade

Moss that covered ancient gods faces.

Here, among the massive oaks,

Birches, aspens and free winds

where millenium passed as a moment,

He stays the same grey-haired old man

Deathly pale moonlight

Enlighten the scattered boulders,

Bleed the eternal darkness

Covering soil with calm

His pain - is to see dead trees

Praised in ancient legends

That were sung by those dead people,

who considered themselves as nature's children.

He never sleeps at night

Branches of trees striving up to the stars

Through the cloven wound of torn winter sky

Silver forest bury in the blackest snowstorm

the asylum of dreams.

And through the new death and forthcoming lives

In my dreams I behold thee,

My heart is burning by pride,

Never turned to ashes in funeral pyre.

Under the cover of night far expanses are open

And i drink morrow dew from the weeds...

And since the birht, pain of my heart

Absorded in morning birds song among the forest.

Flames blaze, new lines...

By emotions poisoned are torments of mind...

Soaring towards grimmest height

Killing the slave forever

The solar mysteries, solitude

Night falls upon the forest, and I am alone here again

I cann see what in unknown for other and

I know what no one ever knows...

He can see the darkness of ancient times,

And everything that is presente, and what shall become

The wisdom in roots and in Foliage

All that hidden in skies, in the sun, and in young grass,

Past roar of mighty banners.

But again, sign of great names burns in Himmel High

Bestial harsh will graspt the hand again,

And firestorm shall enlighten the night.

Steady marching onwards

To the rumble of cannonade, to the machuneguns storm

He never sleeps at night...
