A Rio de Janeiro trio that made thoughtful, experimental music for two decades.
If you're new to them, 'Life In Vain' and 'Green Bus' are good places to start. They frame what the band was doing pretty well.
Their songs like 'Life In Vain' and 'Make No Sound' show what they were after, atmospheric arrangements and lyrics that took their time. They worked with other Brazilian musicians including Chico Science and Zeca Baleiro, but kept making music on their own terms even when it drew some criticism. Tracks like 'Monster Jam' and 'Pyromaniac Cowboy' give you a sense of their catalog.
They formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1998, a trio with Pedro Campos on vocals and guitar, Bruno Silva on bass, and Fernando Furtado on drums. They put out six studio albums between 1999 and 2018, from their self-titled debut to 'Além do Infinito'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
