Machine was a British rock band that formed in London in 1967. Their 1972 album 'Machine Head' included the track 'There But For The Grace Of God Go I,' which became one of their better-known songs.
The band's lineup went through several changes over time, with guitarist Ritchie Blackmore leaving in 1973 and returning for a period in the 1980s. Vocalist Ian Gillan and bassist Roger Glover remained consistent members through much of the band's activity.
They recorded another song called 'You've Come a Long Way' at some point, though it never reached the same recognition as their earlier material. The group eventually stopped working together, though there were occasional reunions in later years.
