Machine Gun

Machine Gun formed in Buenos Aires in the early 1990s, playing a mix of rock, metal, and punk. Their song 'Esquina 80' became particularly well-known, capturing a certain energy that connected with listeners at the time. The band included Alejandro Baldini on vocals, Pablo Gironi on guitar, Sebastián Schachtel on bass, and Adrián Bilbao on drums.

They released their first album, 'Tocando Fondo,' in 1993. The following year's 'Esquina 80' album featured the title track that became something of an anthem. Later albums like 'Quiroga' and 'Uno' showed some shifts in their approach, with 'Uno' leaning more experimental before 1999's 'Nuevo Orden' returned to a heavier sound.

Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism from authorities and conservative groups, which seemed to reinforce their outsider stance rather than quiet them. They were part of that particular moment in Argentine rock where bands mixed aggression with social commentary, and 'Esquina 80' remains the track most people remember.
