Machinedrum

Machinedrum is the electronic music project of Travis Stewart. He started working under that name in the early 2000s, with his first self-titled album arriving in 2007. The project has roots in Detroit's techno scene, but Stewart's approach has always pulled from a wider set of influences, including hip-hop and ambient music.

His 2010 album 'Want' included the track 'Star,' which featured vocals from Mono/Poly and Tanerélle. Later albums like 'Vapor City' and 'Human Energy' continued his pattern of releasing music that doesn't sit neatly in one genre. He has also collaborated with other artists, like Sub Focus on the track '1000 Miles.'

Stewart's work is known for being experimental, which has drawn some criticism for being inaccessible. He keeps making music that blends different electronic styles, avoiding easy categorization.
