MachuKaos formed in Lima, Peru in the early 2000s, with vocalist Verónica "Vera" Serna leading a group interested in mixing different sounds. Their music pulled from Andean folk traditions alongside electronic and psychedelic rock elements, avoiding straightforward genre categories. Their debut album "Amanecer" introduced this approach, blending traditional melodies with modern production.
